Ineos Automotive is busy developing the Grenadier, a classic all-terrain vehicle that values off-road skills over luxury or comfort. Although the designers cite the original Willys Jeep as their source of inspiration, the Grenadier is very similar to the Land Rover Defender – from the previous generation, of course.
We were previously shown the angular exterior design, now the Ineos Grenadier also shows its interior. The designers started from scratch and added only the technological gadgets and comfort items you expect from a vehicle that hopes to stand the test of time effortlessly. And that results in a separate design, in which the designers drew inspiration from airplanes, ships and even tractors.
User-friendliness was paramount, leading to a functional and logical design. But not frills, because the straightforward approach creates an industrial atmosphere. Wear-resistant surface materials have been used throughout, drain plugs in the rubber floor covering and a cleanable cover allow the interior to be sprayed clean. Water and dirt repellent Recaro seats provide ergonomic support and comfort both on and off the road.
