The criminals violently attacked a married couple, stole various species from their home and later they set fire to the home.
The Justice decreed sentences of 25 years in prison for two assailants who robbed and later set fire to a home in Mulchén, in the Bío Bío region.
The The events occurred on the afternoon of August 8, 2020, in a plot of land in the Palermo Alto sector.
The convicted, Luis Mansilla Correa (42) and Víctor Belmar Soto (30) broke into the home of the victims —a young married couple—, attacking them with blows and sharp weapons, causing severe injuries.
According to the Los Angeles prosecutor, Juan Acevedo, the subjects entered the home when “the female victim was on public roads, ordering some things because they were getting ready to go out.”
It was then that they decided to “approach the victim and later enter the home with great violence,” the prosecutor added.
After attacking them, they stole various species from the house. Finally, they set a fire that completely destroyed it.
“There was an intention to hide or erase any kind of trace or vestige of the acts carried out by the accused, through the burning of this house“, said the persecutor.
The criminals stole a van, computers, cell phones, various species, and cash. In total, the losses were valued at $50 million.

In the first trial held for this case, the judges sentenced Mansilla and Belmar to 15 years and one day in prison for the robbery.
“For the crime of qualified robbery, each of the defendants is subjected to the penalty of higher prison terms“, said the prosecutor.
In the second trial, whose sentence was announced today, the court added a sentence of 10 years and one day for the fire , completing the 25 years of prison for each one.
For this crime, “the sentence of higher prison in its average degree was applied for each of the defendants&# 8221;, added Acevedo.
