Longarone (Italy) – Cyclists are waiting for the last mountain stage today with a mass start of the 106th edition of the Gira d'Italia. The peloton will complete a demanding 183 km stage from Longarone to Tre Cime di Lavaredo, during which they will have to climb 5400 meters of altitude.

The pink jersey will be defended by Briton Geraint Thomas, who leads by 29 seconds ahead of Slovenian Primož Roglič. and 39 seconds ahead of Portugal's Joao Almeida. The winner of the Giro will be decided definitively by Saturday's mountain time trial, and on Sunday there will be a ceremonial ride to Rome.
