Brno – With a flyover of army helicopters and airplanes, a trio of security fairs led by the IDET defense fair were launched at the Brno exhibition grounds. They feature the highest number of exhibitors in the thirty-year history of the event, 551 companies from 29 countries came to exhibit.

According to Řehka, it is necessary to admit that a major war conflict is imminent in Europe and that the Czech Republic must prepare for it in the long term. It requires not only a deployable military, but the cooperation of the entire society, he said. He noted that the defense and security industry plays a big role in this.
Řehka considers cooperation and coordination between industry, the state and the military to be extremely important. According to him, the future of warfare will be about who can better and more efficiently use the huge amount of data and process it. For this, new technologies are needed or the battlefield needs to be digitized, he added.
Police Director Martin Vondrášek and the Director General of the Fire Department of the Czech Republic Vladimír Vlček invited the visitors to demonstrations of their technology or equipment. According to Vlček, the police officers present their operational management system. At the Police of the Czech Republic exhibition, people can get to know what happens from calling the 158 crisis line to the intervention of police officers in the field.
According to the organizers, the exhibitors occupied over 30,000 square meters of space, including free space around the pavilions. Pavilion P, in which the IDET trade fair takes place, is completely sold out. Czech industry is represented by, for example, Česká zbrojovka, Czechoslovak Group, Omnipol or STV Group. There are state enterprises LOM Prague, Military Technical Institute, Military Research Institute and VOP CZ. Among the globally significant companies in Brno are, for example, BAE Systems, which could supply the Czech Republic with tracked infantry fighting vehicles, the gripen manufacturer Saab Technologies, and Lockheed Martin, which as a partner of the fair will show the F-35 aircraft trainer.
They have a traditional exhibition also the Ministry of Defense and the Army of the Czech Republic, this year it is thematically focused on 30 years since the foundation of the Czech Army. According to the exhibitors, the aim is to show the progress in the modernization of the army, so visitors can compare the difference between old and new technology and equipment.
IDET takes place every other year, the first year took place in 1993. and the PYROS International Fair of Fire Technology and Services and the International Fair of Safety Technology and Services ISET. The Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, the Police of the Czech Republic, the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic, the Administration of State Material Reserves of the Czech Republic, the Prison Service of the Czech Republic and the Municipal Police of Brno will present themselves in pavilion F.
The gates of the exhibition center will be open today and Thursday from 9: 00 to 17:00. On the first two days of the fair, only people over 16 are allowed to enter. It will be open until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26. The PYROS and ISET trade fairs last until Saturday, May 27, when a program for the general public in the form of Safety Day is planned.
