"If you liked that sequence between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and Darth Maul at the end of The Phantom Menace, you will love our series" !
If we look forward to discovering Ahsoka, at the end of the summer, Disney Plus is actively developing its next Star Wars series, namely < strong>The Acolyte. A new live action series that will explore the dark side like never before in the saga. Or how the Sith returned to the Galaxy far, far away. For the first time, the story will take us to the heart of the High Republic, during the height of the Jedi Order, a century before The Phantom Menace. With the star of Squid Game , Lee Jung-jae, as a Jedi Master and Carie-Anne Moss as a mystical figure.
At their side, the three heroes from The Acolyte will be played by Logan's former daughter, Dafne Keen, as well as Manny Jacinto and Charlie Barnett. They let EW know what to expect from this Star Wars dive into the past. And already: there will be lightsabers! Lots of lightsabers! More and more lightsabers fights! Keen and Jacinto tease:
“If you liked that sequence between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and Darth Maul at the end of The Phantom Menace, you'll love our series! '
Charlie Barnett insists the series will feature “tangible physical movements. We did a lot of stunt training“. He suggests that the special effects will not be omnipresent in these fights: “We have a great stunt team. They do crazy things without hanging on wires, without CGI, without a lot of effects. It makes the fight so much more visceral. Even I took a few hits to the head several times.“
Manny Jacinto on lightsaber fights in 'THE ACOLYTE' series:
“If you liked that fight sequence with Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Darth Maul…you'll love this series.

Daphne Keen immediately announces that lightsabers will be everywhere:
< p>“I don't know if I can reveal it, but I'll say it anyway: there are very few guns in this series. Me who likes fights, stunts and all, I love it. Because this series leans towards a clinch choreography. We're in a dance. It actually looks like real fights. We're not just aiming and shooting to get out of a situation! did a lot of that melee (…) We got a lot of lightsabers!”
Star Wars: The Acolyte will launch in 2024 on Disney Plus.
