About a million Syrians have become refugees because of the offensive of the regime of Bashar al-Assad, supported by Russia, in the North-West of Syria. About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to Reuters.

According to the high representative of the United States of America to the UN David Swenson, on December 1, the Syrian province of Idlib left more than 800 thousand inhabitants. An overwhelming number of the refugees are women and children.

In addition, in the coming days it is expected the new flow of thousands of Syrian refugees to safe areas near the border with Turkey, after all, “whole towns and communities” fleeing an offensive by government forces backed by the Russian military.

We will remind, earlier the foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas called on the Syrian President Assad and the Kremlin to stop attacks on civilians in Idlib province. Maas stressed that Russia must use its influence on Assad to stop the offensive.

Also RBC-Ukraine wrote that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused Syrian government forces, supported by Russia, in deliberate attacks on civilians in the Syrian Idlib.

In addition, Turkey pledged to maintain a military presence in the Syrian province of Idlib. Ankara also plans to respond to any actions that violate international law.
