Rome – AC Milan footballers beat FC Turin 1:0 in the 22nd round of the Italian league and are rejoicing in victory after seven competitive matches. The month-long crisis of the reigning champions was helped to end by French striker Olivier Giroud, who in the 71st minute scored the only goal of the match with a typical header.

Milan were in danger of losing their fifth consecutive competitive game for the first time in 93 years if their poor results continued. Instead, coach Stefano Pioli's men returned to the fight for the Champions League, they are third in the table before the weekend matches.
Swedish veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic has not yet played in the game. The 41-year-old Swede was nominated for a match for the first time since knee surgery in June, but remained on the bench.
Turin, which is missing long-term injured Czech defender David Zima, failed to follow up on recent successes with the Milan club. In January, the team of Croatian coach Ivan Jurič eliminated AC from the Italian Cup and also won the October league duel at home.
