A ban on going to the forest has been issued for the region of l' Abitibi-Témiscamingue because of the significant risk of ignition of new fires.
The authorities who also closed the forest roads took this decision to facilitate the interventions of the Société de protection des forests against fire (SOPFEU) in the fight against fires.
The ban is in effect from Sunday at 8 a.m., and citizens who are in public forests are asked to leave the area as soon as possible.
The extension of the ban on access to the forest also affects Sépaq national parks, including those in the region , Aiguebelle, Opémican and La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve.
Also remember that it is forbidden to make open fires on the entire territory.
