“Fairytales are about someone offering a heart in the palm of his hand and some powerful wizard or evil forces trying to destroy it. The mission of a fairy tale is to resist evil, and it's a mission for the future that we should be welcoming, warm , to protect goodness and truth, and this is carried forward in children in life,” the actress said.
Adamovská played a number of film and television roles, played in serials, has also played many theater roles, and was intensively devoted to dubbing. She has been princesses and queens in fairy tales and films for children, in recent years she has played, for example, in the fairy tales About the Christmas Star, The Crown Prince or Hell with the Princess. He accepts offers not only according to the role, but mainly according to the script. “The rule is that the viewer has to believe you, films for children are more difficult because the child viewer sees more, children are honest,” the actress said. “I enjoy a role when it's well written, there's something to play. When it's well written, it has to have a beginning, something has to happen with the character to eventually come to some knowledge, especially in fairy tales, then it has to have some kind of catharsis,” she said Adamovská, who will be filming a fairy tale about a princess on pea in the summer, where she will play the countess.
In dubbing, she enjoyed wooing actresses who play well, it was Meryl Streep, Claudia Cardinal or Sigourney Weaver. “When it's a well-played role by a good actress, it dubs itself, it carries you, the performance,” said Adamovská, who won the František Filipovský Award for dubbing. She also dubbed animated films. “That's a problem, the character doesn't have a human mouth drawn, you have to go for the overall expression of the role. It's important to feel the style that the animated film has, one is crazy, the other is very realistic,” said the actress.
With her grandchildren, she likes to watch, for example, The Mole or Pat and Mat. As a child, she loved the stories of the two bears in the animated series Come, Sir, Let's Play. “Bears have not aged, it always brings a smile to my face. Technology has advanced, but the imagination that springs from it is unrepeatable. It is also a challenge and inspiration for children that they should play, create something and goof around and not just passively do something watch,” said the actress. According to her husband Petar Štěpánek, who visited Zlín with Adamovská, children have imagination, but it is important to nurture it.
Adamovská was pleased with the festival's award. “I was surprised that they called me from the festival. I started to think that I'm not finished yet. But I really have a lot of work to do, not only for the children, so I was very happy about it,” said Adamovská. The festival started on Thursday, ends today, this year is the 63rd year.
