Ostrava – Actor and Ostrava native Vladimír Javorský can win the Jantar Award in the popular music category, who last year sang and released the album Ještě je. “In the popular music category, jazz pianist Nikol Bóková is nominated for her two original albums Elements and Naked Pieces, folklorist Marian Friedl for her album Černobílý svět, Vladimír Javorský, born in Ostrava, for her album Ještě je and also the Kahoma Trio for her album In the Woods,” he said. In all cases, these are roles performed at the Moravian-Silesian National Theatre, namely in the productions of Carmen and the Nutcracker – A Christmas Carol.
The Moravian-Silesian Jantar Awards will be announced for the sixth time this year. This time, the organizers made a fundamental change and will hold the awards at a different location, in the renovated Poklad House of Culture in Ostrava-Porubá. Singer Nika, dulcimer Daniel Skála, soprano Karolína Levková or saxophonist Michal Žáček with the Permoník Concert Choir and band Filip M. with Jitka Andrašková or band Buty will perform at the festive evening.
