PD Amnesty will include people over 55 years of age
The authorities of Afghanistan intend to release from prison of not less than 10 thousand prisoners to prevent the spread of coronavirus. About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to Deutsche Welle.
According to the office of President, Ashraf Ghani, the President has already signed the corresponding decree. It is noted that the Amnesty will include people older than 55 years.
Among the prisoners shall be released, no members of the radical Islamic Taliban or the militants of the terrorist group ISIS.
Earlier, the coronavirus was diagnosed in four soldiers of the NATO mission in Afghanistan. All of them were hospitalized and isolated.
In addition, Kuwait, Bahrain and Afghanistan have confirmed the first cases of the coronavirus. In particular, Kuwait reported three cases of infection, the Bahrain – one. The Minister of health of Afghanistan, Ferozuddin Feroz said that the country identified the first case of coronavirus. One of the three suspected cases of the disease were confirmed in the Western province of Herat.
