The town in the province of Trapani, where the father of the former Ferrari driver was born, will give recognition on Wednesday 7 July in an extraordinary session
Jean Alesi citizen of Alcamo. The Administration of the town in the province of Trapani, in the person of the Mayor Domenico Surdi, will confer Honorary Citizenship on Jean Alesi, former Formula 1 driver, on Wednesday afternoon at 19, during the extraordinary session of the City Council. Special convocation to confer citizenship on the French, a former Ferrari driver, whose father is from Alcamo.
The ceremony will take place in the Atrium Santi Ignazio di Lojola and Francesco Saverio (Jesuit College Atrium) in the presence of the authorities. To welcome the driver in the historic city center, Piazza Ciullo, there will be an exhibition of sports cars of the Prancing Horse. The plaque that will be awarded to the former driver reads “The City of Alcamo confers honorary citizenship on Jean Alesi, to commemorate the talent, courage, passion, humility and loyalty in sport and in life”.
Honorary citizenship aims to be the recognition of the career of a sports personality who, with professionalism, commitment, great enthusiasm and desire to compete, has been able to raise the name of Alcamo in the world of motoring.
