Mother from the UK has warned that “the coronavirus is not a joke” after her “perfectly healthy” 5-year-old son were infected. He was so hurt that he asked her: “am I dying?”.
30-year-old Lauren Holbrook from Worcestershire on Saturday published a post on Facebook in which he said that had to endure her son Alfie.
“I had to watch my energetic five year old son ceased to move, eat, drink and pee, writes Fulbrook. – I watched as he hallucinated and cried for a headache, when he was transported to the hospital by ambulance to be placed in isolation and to test for the virus.
A positive result was confirmed. Lying on a hospital bed, the son asked me if he dies. It was heartbreaking for me as a mother.”

“The level of sugar in his blood was only 3.7, and the breathing frequency was 18-20, and heart rate is 180, – writes Fulbrook. – He was sweating heavily, shaking, panting, and he had photophobia”.
According to Metro UK, Fulbrook said that Alfie felt ill after visiting the pool.
“He started “wheezing” last Monday, and I decided that he had swallowed too much chlorinated water in the swimming lesson that day – she writes. – He had a cough like barking, which worsened throughout the Tuesday. On Tuesday night his temperature suddenly rose to 38.4 degrees. The next day I took him to class”.
By Thursday the temperature at Alfie soared even higher, he stopped eating and hardly anything to drink. So his mom called the number 111 (phone the National health service of UK).
“In the morning they sent us an ambulance, but said that the hospital was so busy, I can’t take it, – posted by Fulbrook. – The doctor knocked his temperature and said that if she will rise again or he gets worse, to call 999 (emergency telephone number the UK)“.
The situation worsened in a few hours.
“Later that night he started vomiting. He was hallucinating, crying, holding his head, saying that though she “might explode”. He had bad eyes. The ambulance was forced to return him”, she wrote.
The mother and son were taken to Vasterskog the hospital where Alfie was tested for COVID-19. The results were positive. Mother, which also had a cough, was allowed to leave with her son in prison.
They remained in the hospital until Friday evening, after which they were allowed to go home on strict quarantine.
Fulbrook stressed that young children have no “protection” from the coronavirus, they can suffer from severe symptoms even without comorbidities.
