Opočno (Rychnovsko) – In the past few days, someone sprayed the facade of the northern wing of the state castle in Opočno in Rychnovsko with an unknown pink substance. Apparently, this happened sometime in the 24 hours from 17:00 on Sunday, the police informed CTK today. She received the notification about the spraying of the castle's facade on Monday afternoon. The police are asking for the public's help.

“We are intensively dealing with the case of spraying. The police are examining the report for suspicion of committing the crime of damaging another's property,” police spokeswoman Eliška Pospíšilová told ČTK.
According to her, an unknown perpetrator spray-painted a sign measuring approximately 150 by 70 centimeters between April 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to April 24th until 4:00 p.m.
“I've never encountered anything like this, I'm dealing with it for the first time, I'm currently asking companies that can remove it and for how much. We don't have an estimate of the damage yet. I estimate that it will be several tens of thousands of crowns,” Tomáš Kořínek, the castellan of the castle, who reported the case to the police, told ČTK today.

Opočno Castle is managed by the National Monuments Institute (NPÚ) and is one of the most visited state monuments in the Hradec Králové Region.
