A new rumor regarding the Galaxy S30 suggests that this device could have a set of six cameras on the back.
While most of the media evoke especially the Galaxy Note 20 and its variants should be submitted in the month of August, Tom’s Guide has published this week an article on the Galaxy S30. It relays a patent of Samsung, which would have been discovered by the Dutch site LetsGoDigital, and that suggests that Samsung is considering to launch a smartphone equipped with a set of six cameras on the back.
Currently, most smartphones, even in the high-end segment, do not have more than 4 cameras on the back. The Nokia 9 Pureview and the Mi Note 10 of Xiaomi, with 5 cameras on the back, are notable exceptions. Also, by launching a device with six cameras on the back, Samsung could once again make a buzz as it has done by launching the Galaxy S20 Ultra, which is equipped with a primary camera of up to 108 megapixels and a zoom x100.
But what would this set of six cameras ?
Based on the documents he has discovered, the magazine LetsGoDigital has generated the rendering below, you can see that the six cameras could be placed on a module, rectangular oriented horizontally.

We do not know precisely what could be the benefits of having six cameras on the back of a smartphone. But according to Tom’s Guide, there would be one main camera and five cameras, wide-angles. These cameras might be able to move via a swivel mechanism. And the changes of position would allow the device to generate photo effects that are not possible with the current smartphones.
But of course, since all this information does not originate from an official statement from Samsung, they are still regarded with a certain reserve. In addition, the fact that Samsung has created a patent does not mean that he will use it on one of his next models. In any case, given that the photo is now one of the most important aspects of a mobile, it is expected that Samsung will show creativity in this area of the Galaxy S30. In addition, the S30 will be a competitor to the future iPhone 12, that should sell very well thanks to the 5G.
