At noon, before departing for his homeland, Zeman took off in a helicopter from the Poprad airport for a sightseeing flight over the Tatras. After the morning inversion, sunny weather prevailed in Slovakia's highest mountain range with good visibility.

Zeman arrived in the High Tatras on Monday, when he dined with Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová at Štrbské pleso. After Tuesday's official joint meeting, the presidents of the Czech Republic and Slovakia praised the good level of mutual relations, and Zeman expressed the hope that it will continue with his successor in office, Petr Pavlo. The winner of the direct presidential election, Pavel, will take office on March 9 and, according to earlier information, plans to visit Slovakia on his first foreign trip in office.
