Prague – Today, the koruna strengthened against the euro by four pennies compared to Thursday's close. Around 17:00, according to the server Patria Online, it traded at 23.64 CZK/EUR. It is once again hovering near its strongest levels in 14 and a half years. Against the dollar, the Czech currency weakened by seven pennies to 22.41 CZK/USD. The Prague Stock Exchange weakened slightly. The PX index fell by 0.05 percent to 1387.85 points.

During the week, the koruna mainly moved around the level of 23.70 CZK/EUR, avoiding major fluctuations. “There are no fundamental reasons for a significant strengthening, at the same time the koruna does not want to fall to weaker levels due to the possibility that the central bank will enter the market,” said Komerční banka analyst Jana Steckerová.

The Prague Stock Exchange weakened slightly today. The PX index fell by 0.05 percent to 1387.85 points. Shares of insurance company VIG, Erste Bank and energy group ČEZ lost slightly. Other traded titles either remained at zero or strengthened. It follows from the trading results on the exchange's website.

According to analysts, the Prague Stock Exchange moved today close to Thursday's close. “Our market thus resisted the negative sentiment on foreign stock exchanges, where the sell-off was triggered by worse inflation data from the USA,” said Fio bank's broker Josef Dudek.

From the financial sector, Moneta Money Bank did well today, whose shares rose by 1 .07 percent to 85.30 crowns, and Komerční banka, when its shares strengthened by 0.2 percent to 742 crowns. The securities of the pharmaceutical chain Pilulka lékárny and the beverage producer Kofola also ended up in the black.

CEZ securities recorded a slight decrease of 0.1 percent, ending trading at 1,022 crowns. Erste Bank securities fell by 0.49 percent to 817.60 crowns and VIG shares fell by one percent to 597 crowns.

CEZ Group's shares strengthened the most, while Erste Banking Group's shares weakened the most. This follows from the exchange's website. In the previous week, the Prague Stock Exchange added 1.4 percent.

“This week, the Prague Stock Exchange broke a streak of nine consecutive weeks of growth. The biggest contributor to the decline of the PX index was profit-taking in the shares of Erste Bank and Moneta Money bank,” said broker Wood & Company Vladimír Vávra. In a week-on-week comparison, Erste shares weakened by 4.82 percent to CZK 817.60, and Moneta shares lost 1.61 percent to CZK 85.30. . Although they continued their decline at the beginning of the week, after a strong level of support at the levels of 950 to 960 crowns was visible on the market, the shares began to recoup the losses from the previous week and continued to strengthen until Friday. In the end, ČEZ shares ended the week 3.08 percent stronger at CZK 1,022.

Among other shares, Pilulka shares recorded a significant drop of 4.41 percent to CZK 650. VIG shares weakened by 1.81 percent to CZK 597 and Colt armory shares by 0.17 percent to CZK 589. On the other hand, Kofola shares rose by 0.81 percent to CZK 248 and by 0.58 percent to 17,320 CZK shares of Philip Morris. Komerční banka's shares strengthened only slightly by 0.07 percent to CZK 742.
