Admittedly, the four teams that have reached the semifinals are, surely, the ones that have shown the best face throughout the tournament. Italy through its defensive solidity and its enviable attack into space, Spain thanks to a “combinative football” that has allowed it to generate many occasions, Denmark through effort, colorful football and knowing how to overcome adverse situations, and England that after five games they have still not conceded a single goal, and against Ukraine they have managed to get rid of that boring team label.
After having seen five games from each of these four teams, it must be admitted that the one that has been the furthest from losing so far is England. This amazing facility for not conceding goals is joined by an unlikely attack. Some of the best players in the world are substitutes in the English team, and the fact is that they have so many pieces to use that in recent games the starting eleven has been changing at will.

When we read Gareth Southgate’s list we all thought that this selection would offer a somewhat more entertaining football than what we have finally ended up seeing, but we must admit that his plan works, or at least so far it is working like a charm. Players like Foden, Grealish, Rashford or Sancho are counting on very few minutes for the simple fact that those who are playing in their place have reached a level that is difficult to beat.
The English will play the semifinals and the supposed grand final at Wembley, which joins the rest of the circumstances that make the three lions be the favorite to finally achieve the long-awaited Eurocup. It is not a secret that the English have a reputation for losing when no one expects it anymore, but this year it would be an absolute surprise if they did not reach the final with the favorites.

In the semifinals they will face a Denmark that under no circumstances will give the game for lost at any time. The Danes have shown the entire soccer planet that nothing is impossible, and that you can go from misery to glory in a matter of minutes.
