“The president-elect is now planning a trip to the regions. I wanted to offer him cooperation, for example an insight into the subsidy policy, and find synergy within the framework of the fact that the regions need care and visibility,” said Bartoš before the meeting.

According to him, Pavel knows the situation of individual cities and their problems from the election campaign, when he traveled around the country. Current trips to the regions could help to solve these problems, believes Bartoš. “I think that synergy between the president, who was a civil candidate, the government, but also the local councils in the given cities or at the regional level, is desirable in a whole range of other issues,” said the minister.

Bartoš also appreciated today that Pavel is going to first visit a region that was not among his electoral strongholds. He drew attention to the difference with the current president, Miloš Zeman, who preferred to visit the regions where he enjoyed the greatest voter support.
