Augsburg took the lead on the leader's pitch in the third minute, but the favorites turned the score around with four goals before the break. Two were scored by the French full-back Pavard, who in his 150th game in the Bundesliga experienced the first two-goal game. After the change of sides, visiting Berisha also added a second goal from the penalty spot and reduced the score to 2:4, but the favorite bounced back and secured the win.

Leipzig tuned in for the rematch of the Champions League round of 16 with Manchester City. The goals came only after the change of sides and only after Blaswich caught a penalty from visiting Pléa. Werner immediately sent the home team into the lead with a shot against the crossbar, Forsberg then, unlike his opponent, took advantage of a penalty kick and won the fourth game in a row. Guardiol sealed the result.

Only in the second half did the score change in Frankfurt. The sixth team in the table only drew 1:1 at home with relegation-threatened Stuttgart. Eintracht failed to hold onto the lead and failed to win for the third time in a row in the league ahead of Wednesday's LM Round of 16 rematch with Napoli.

After four consecutive wins, Mainz drew 1-1 in Berlin with Hertha, who stayed one point ahead of Stuttgart in last place in the table that gives assurance of salvation. The guests were losing early and Ajorque secured a point for the seventh team in the league with his second goal since arriving from Strasbourg.
