Bayern's first goal was scored in the 39th minute by defender De Ligt, who also saved his team from conceding two minutes earlier when he kicked the ball off the goal line after Mavropanos' shot.

Bayern did not strike again until the second half when Choupo-Moting, who on Friday extended his contract until the summer of 2024, ended the Bavarians' dazzling campaign with a goal. It was the tenth league goal of the season for the Cameroon national team striker.

Stuttgart reduced the score in the 88th minute with a goal by Perey, who brought the final drama to the match, but the home team was unable to equalize. Thus, Bayern managed to qualify for Wednesday's round of 16 of the Champions League with Paris St. Germain, over whom he won the first away match 1:0.

Schalke's first away win in the top flight since November 2019 and after 38 games was decided by goalkeeper Riemann's curious own goal in the first half. He was reaching in vain for the ball heading for the goal, which neither of the two defenders at the goal line stopped, and Riemann inadvertently moved it beyond it. Eleven minutes before the end, Bülter sealed the win with three points. Schalke, led by former Bochum coach Thomas Reis, has yet to lose in the spring.

It was Bochum who fell to the last place in the table, losing for the fourth time in a row. Both teams have the same 19 points, as do sixteenth-placed Hoffenheim and fifteenth-placed Stuttgart.

Union Berlin played to a goalless draw at home with Cologne, they have not won for the third time in a row and are already five points behind leaders Bayern

Leandro Barreiro's first-half goal was enough for Mainz to beat Hoffenheim 1-0 at home and the American it gave coach Pellegrino Matarazzo his fourth defeat in the fourth game since he took over. Pavel Kadeřábek played a full portion of minutes for the visitors.

Augsburg defeated Werder Bremen 2:1 with Jiří Pavlenko in goal and won the fourth home game this year.
