Place Agnico-Eagle, public market in the Vallée-de-l'Or (Archives)
The season of Marché public de la Vallée-de-l'Or is launched this Sunday.
Visitors will have access to an average of 35 exhibitors at Place Agnico Eagle.
But there is always room for market gardeners and artisans who want to be there this season, whether in Val-d'Or, Malartic or the three new markets in Senneterre.
The organizers want to attract more visitors with a new program, explains coordinator Valérie Dufour.
What it's What's new is that we really intend to make edits or are we adding more cultural value. So I have events planned at each market. What we're aiming for with that is to invite people from other backgrounds, who are generally the people who know the market well, it's a way of bringing people, maybe for another reason, then finally realizing how much we have available, either for local purchase or perhaps healthier consumption, she says.
The public market of Amos opens its doors on June 22 with more than 30 exhibitors on display. That of Rouyn-Noranda will launch its season on June 28. There is also a public market in Ville-Marie and Palmarolle as well as in Barraute.
