According to the specialized server Transfermarkt.com, Bellingham is the thirteenth most expensive player in history. Real only bought the Belgian Eden Hazard, who came from Chelsea in 2019 for 115 million euros, for a higher sum. The bonuses depend on Real's sporting results and Bellingham's performances over the next six seasons.
“Thank you, Jude, for three dedicated years at Borussia. It was a fantastic time together,” said Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke. Borussia already announced the departure of its mainstay last week. Real will officially present the new reinforcement on Thursday.
Bellingham, who was already a supporter of second division Birmingham at the age of 16, came to Dortmund three years ago for 25 million euros. He played 132 competitive matches for the Westphalian team, in which he scored 24 goals and set up 25 goals for his teammates.
In Dortmund, he also played the role of captain and won the German Cup, but did not achieve a league triumph. Last season, Borussia lost their first title in 11 years only in the last round. In the national team, Bellingham played 24 duels and helped England to the finals of the Euro and the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
