Madrid – The Betis Sevilla footballers won 3:2 at Elche in the Spanish league after a three-goal turnaround. The victory over the bottom team in the table, which finished without two suspensions, was decided by Willian José from a penalty in the set-up.
Elche led 2-0 after the first half thanks to Fidel's penalty and Lucas Boye's strike. In the 57th minute, however, Lisandro Magellan received a red card and Betis quickly used the advantage in numbers. In the 65th minute, Borja Iglesias scored from the penalty spot and Juan Miranda equalized immediately afterwards.
Two minutes before the end, Iglesias could have scored a second time from another penalty kick, but goalkeeper Edgar Badia caught him. Betis finally got the win when Enzo Rocco played in the goal, was sent off and Willian José converted the penalty.
Thanks to the victory, the Anatolian team secured fifth place in the table, which guarantees direct promotion to the Europa League. Six points separate Betis from sixth Vallecano. Elche missed the chance to claim their second win of the season, and 13 points separate them from last place in the relegation zone.
