Six minors were arrested on October 10 on the decision of the Béziers prosecutor’s office. These young people had been sowing terror for four months in Pézenas and Caux, two towns in the Hérault. “The volume and progressive aggravation of the facts had led the Béziers public prosecutor’s office and the Pézenas gendarmerie to organize a large-scale judicial operation,” explains the prosecutor of the Republic of Béziers, Raphaël Balland. Thirty-five gendarmes were mobilized for the occasion.
One of the suspects was exonerated. A second, less involved, was summoned in front of the delegate of the prosecutor in charge of minors for a measure of penal reparation. The other four were presented to the public prosecutor’s office of Béziers at; the end of their custody seen. Placed under judicial control, they were forbidden to see each other and to go to Pézenas and Caux to’ their appearance before the juvenile court on 9 November.
Compensation by minors and their civil guardians
Only three out of four minors appeared before the court. Found guilty of almost all of of the offenses with which they were charged, they were condemned, with their civil liability, to compensate their victims. The court opened a cooling-off period. the educational test until May 17th. On this date, the tribunal will meet at again to determine the criminal sanction. In the meantime, they are kept under judicial control with the same prohibitions and obligations.
