Black Widow and the X-Men: Olivier Richters confirmed that he gave life to the mutant Ursa Major

The premiere of Black Widow in theaters and Disney + finally revealed more information about the MCU’s favorite spy.

If you are one of those who have already seen the film, you will have noticed, as we have already seen in other installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that this film also included nods to characters corresponding to the Marvel comic universe.

“After two years I can say that my character is Ursa Major: the first X-Men to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When the production on set told me who I really was in Black Widow, I shed a few tears in my hotel room (…) My dream came true: to be an official comic book superhero. I can only hope Marvel brings Ursa back in her full form.He added.

At what point does Ursa Major appear in Black Widow?

We see Ursa Major confront Alexei (David Harbor) inside prison. He is defeated by the Red Guardian when the Red Guardian taunts one of his anecdotes. Even the ex-agent calls him as is by name.

This inclusion marks a watershed moment for the UCM: The X-Men, characters that Marvel Studios was unable to use until Disney acquired Fox in 2019, would have an official debut soon.

While comic book characters considered mutants, such as Wanda Maximoff, have appeared in the brand’s films before, their backstories have been rewritten. Kevin Feige, CEO of Marvel Studios, has hinted at the addition of mutants to the franchise, but so far we have not seen them appear alongside the big stars of said universe.
