Tashkent – The head of US diplomacy Antony Blinken said today in Tashkent, that he is not going to meet either his Russian or Chinese counterpart at the upcoming G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Delhi, news agencies said. They recalled that the US has strained relations with Russia and China because of the war in Ukraine.

“I don't expect to meet them at the G20,” Blinken said during a visit to Uzbekistan, from where he will head to India. However, the minister clarified that he will participate in the G20 joint meeting, which will also be attended by Sergei Lavrov and Qin Kang.

During the meeting with the representatives of Uzbekistan, according to Reuters, Blinken emphasized the importance of thoroughly and transparently investigating the allegations that law enforcement forces committed human rights violations while suppressing the riots from last summer.

Blinken already held talks with representatives of other Central Asian countries in Kazakhstan on Tuesday. The administration of US President Joe Biden is trying to show the benefits of cooperation with the US in a region where the war in Ukraine is having an economic impact and where Russia and China have a strong influence.
