Miličín (Benešovsko) – Builders will repair the stretch through Miličín in Benešovsko, which is part of the main road from Prague to Tábor. Among other things, the aim is to increase the safety and flow of traffic. The work will require 23 million crowns without VAT and will be a joint investment project of the municipality and the Directorate of Roads and Highways (ŘSD). Drivers should expect traffic restrictions, Martin Buček from the ŘSD informed ČTK today.

The busy road I/3 divides the village into two parts and is difficult for people to cross. A 300 meter long section, which is in poor condition, is to be repaired. There will also be two new crossings for pedestrians and a turning island, which is supposed to calm traffic when entering the village. The workers will also repair drainage, sidewalks and install new public lighting and traffic signs.

The event has a building permit and a tender for a contractor has been issued. The total repair time should not exceed 90 days. The reconstruction will be divided into stages while maintaining traffic on the I/3 road. “The method of traffic engineering measures will be decided by the selected contractor depending on the individual stages and the width arrangement of the road at the given work site. However, we also assume shuttle-controlled operation,” added Buček.
