At least five bus lines from the province of San Antonio paralyzed routes due to the rise in fuel. They ask the government for concrete measures.
Drivers of five public transport lines in the province of San Antonio, in the Valparaíso region, paralyzed their functions this Friday, a measure that they will maintain until the Government – according to what they indicate – gives them a concrete solution regarding the price of fuels.
From the union they indicated that they join the protest carried out by the truckers in different sectors of the country.
During the day on Thursday, Buses San Antonio, Litoral Central, Amanecer, Taxibuses San Antonio and Nueva Buses confirmed their adherence at 07:00 this Friday.
The provincial presidential delegate, Caroline Sireau, pointed out that on Thursday she met with the drivers' union to hear their demands, which they are working on.
It should be noted that the union specified that they do not intend to paralyze traffic, but only their functions. They added that the strike will continue as long as they do not have a concrete solution from the Government regarding the price of fuel, among other demands.
The mayoress of San Antonio, Constanza Lizana, indicated that as a result of the stoppage, they took measures to make the entry and exit hours of municipal workers and community organizations more flexible, ensuring emergency shifts.
