Poznań (Poland) – Canoeist Martin Fuksa won the 1000 meters race at the World Cup in Poznań. He beat the second Pole, Wiktor Glazunow, by 16 hundredths of a second. The 30-year-old Czech representative has already scored his 16th victory in the elite series, last year in Poland he celebrated a double in the 500 and 1000 meters.

Two-time world champion and eleven-time European champion Fuksa completed the first individual start of the season. On Sunday, he still has the final of the 500 meter steeplechase with his brother Petr. Two weeks ago in Szeged, they finished third in the B final.
Kayaker Anežka Paloudová took eighth place in the 200-meter race. She lost 1.22 seconds to the winning Polish Katarzyna Kolodziejczyk.
Josef Dostál won the 1000m B final in kayak just like two weeks ago in Szeged. He beat Sweden's Martin Nathell by three-tenths of a second to take tenth place overall. The four-time Olympic medalist will compete in the semi-finals in the non-Olympic discipline of 500 meters this afternoon.
