Prague – The head of the presidential office, Vratislav Mynář, will probably resign from his post on the morning of Thursday, March 9, i.e. the day of the inauguration of the new president Petr Pavel. Before resigning, he will hand over the necessary documents to his successor, Jana Vohralíková. Mynář told ČTK today. Even before that, he will probably present the results of the audit at a press conference, which concerns the management of the Prague Castle Administration and the Lány Forestry Administration. After leaving the presidential office, Mynář does not want to apply for any position in the state administration. He plans to meet regularly with President Miloš Zeman.

Mynář agreed with the chancellor of the Chamber of Deputies, Martin Plíšek and Vohralíková, that they would meet again next week to check the preparations for the inauguration. After that, he wants to meet with his successor one more time and give her, for example, handover protocols. “I will resign from my position as head of the Office of the President of the Republic on March 9,” he said. He expects that to happen on Thursday morning before the inauguration. He is no longer going to meet her. “I will participate as much as possible in ensuring the inauguration, but I don't think my presence at it is necessary,” he said.
In his position, he still wants to complete the audit, which was prepared for the presidential office by a private auditing company. According to Mynář, she was selected on the basis of a selection procedure announced in connection with the resolution of the Supreme Audit Office, which controlled the activities of the Office of the President of the Republic (KPR).
The company prepared an internal audit regarding the “specific area of management” of the Administration of Prague Castle and Chateau in Lány. “I was confronted and made aware of these conclusions, I asked our internal audit to give me their own opinion on it, and of course also the law firm that represents the Office of the President of the Republic,” he said. The new management of the Prague Castle Administration also commented on the results. He would like to comment on the topic at a press conference.
He added that he and Vohralíková agreed that the conclusions of the audit reports and the recommendations of the law firm should still be analyzed by the current management of KPR.
After leaving from the head of the KPR, Mynář does not want to seek any position in the state administration. “It's not a cliché, in those ten years I didn't pay any attention to my family, my wife and my two young children,” he said. “After I rest, I want to quit and focus mostly on my family,” he added. Then he wants to find a job. “I am not in such a financial situation that I could retire already,” he said.
He should meet with Zeman regularly in the coming months. “The agreement is that Mr. President will be very happy if we visit regularly, meet regularly in his office. Not only me, but also the closest members of his team who have been around him for the whole ten years,” he said.
