A drunk and noticeably upset passenger unleashed chaos on a Jet2 flight traveling from London, UK to Crete, Greece to the point of having to be controlled by flight authorities and dragged to the rear of the plane.
According to testimonies collected by British media, the man “urinated on his brother” who was next to him on the flight, and with whom moments later he merged into a fist fight.
Alfie and Kenneth Springthorpe received a $63,000 fine from the airline for the altercation they had during the flight on May 3.
One of the passengers recorded the incident in a video that shows the moment one of the brothers is dragged down the corridor by a Greek policeman.
The drinker from southeast London, is shown tilted at a 90 degree angle and can barely stand up. Another plainclothes officer walks behind the noisy passenger to help remove him from the plane.
The Jet2 pilot was forced to divert the flight to Corfu to evict the brothers from the flight after of the fight they got into mid-flight.
A passenger said that staff found one and a half empty bottles of vodka under the seats where the disruptive duo was sitting.< /b>
The incident caused more than 200 passengers to have their holidays delayed by more than three hours and 45 minutes. Many passengers were also stranded on Crete for another day, and Jet2 had to provide hotels.
One of the brothers had to be escorted off the plane by Greek police because he could not sustain himself from drunkenness
“Alfie and Kenneth Springthorpe, from Sidcup, exhibited a catalog of egregious behavior on board the plane which included causing harm, as well as unacceptable levels of aggression and even physical violence,” the airline said in a statement.
“As a result, the highly trained crew had no choice but to divert the plane, which was flying from London Stansted to Heraklion, Crete, to Corfu so that the police could unload them. This caused a delay of approximately three hours and 45 minutes before the flight continued safely to Crete”, they added.
The tourist who captured the images shared the video on TikTok on June 1 and wrote:“Fight on Jet2 flight after one drunk brother urinated on the other because he’s too drunk to go to the bathroom. I’m not surprised after drinking 1.5 liters of Ciroc vodka on the plane.”
“We were waiting to take off and one of the flight attendants informed the cabin crew who had given the younger brother a first warning due to his obscene and inappropriate language,” the passenger recounted in the publication.
“A Once in the air, it was clear that the younger brother was drunk and the stewardess took an empty bottle from them”, he added.

He said that when they were about two and a half hours into the flight the older brother got up to go to the bathroom but he was so drunk he couldn’t stand up, so in his drunken state he urinated on his younger brother who responded with a punch that started the fight.
“The woman in the front seat was carrying a baby and they hit her, so we all pushed her away and brothers were separated. The cabin crew asked the male passengers to come and help by sitting around them,” the passenger highlighted.
“They continued to insult each other and then diverted us to Corfu, where the Greek police boarded. The younger brother and mother left the flight and the older brother was handcuffed and dragged off the plane because he refused to leave and couldn’t stand up,” he said.
The younger brother apologized to the people, saying that he didn’t know how else to react to what happened and that he was quite upset but that he apologized for having affected everyone.
