Employees at San Francisco-based Twitter received Thursday an email advising that before 4:00 p.m. they will have a notification informing them whether or not they will continue with the company, according to the US media.
“In an effort To keep the company on a prosperous path, we will go through the difficult process of reducing our workforce”, according to the email received by the technology company's staff.
The communication also informed employees that, for security reasons, the offices will be “temporarily closed” and staff will not have access to the facilities.
The British newspaper Financial Times reported on Thursday that Musk plans to cut some 3,700 jobs from the company, which It has some 7,500 employees.
