Nearly 6 million workers are in part-time unemployment following the outbreak of coronavirus. The public authorities made every effort to make this lower partial activity, or even the total stop of the latter, a period beneficial. Vocational training is highlighted in order to encourage these employees to gain skills and improve their know-how.
A decree, published on 2 April, offers the possibility to employees to the unemployment of a vocational training course free of charge without having to mobilize their Personal Account of Formation (CPF). The cost of this training is fully supported, without that it does not cost anything to the employees.
Free vocational training for unemployed people
The opportunity to train free of charge, however, relies on two conditions. On the one hand that the company gives its consent, and that on the other hand, the employee-in-training professional to accept compensation equivalent to 84 % of their normal salary (compared to 100% in normal time), that is to say, a level equivalent to that guaranteed by the part-time unemployment.
Muriel Pénicaud, Minister of Labour, invites all the employees concerned, noting that negotiations are underway to provide even more vocational training free of charge in the days to come, and affirming the simplicity of the approach. “We are going to charge to 100%, by funding from the State, all the costs of training for persons who are in part-time unemployment”.
