A video shot onA5 motorway has nailed to his responsibilities a motorist who he traveled 10 kilometers in the wrong direction fortunately without creating accidents. In the cover photo, inside the red circle, you can see the car positioned in the wrong lane: an error that certainly cost the suspension of the license. The car was placed in a state of detention.

The car traveled over ten kilometers in the wrong direction between Chatillon and Verrès before being stopped by the Pont-Saint-Martin traffic police. Driving the car a 72-year-old woman. The incident happened late Thursday afternoon, when the driver took the highway in the wrong direction right at Chatillon.

The author of the video asked motorway managers to pay more attention to toll booths and exits, and in fact he is not completely wrong: recently a dangerous reversal of a truck had occurred on the same motorway. On the A5 motorway, on 23 June, the driver of the heavy vehicle had decided to make a U-turn before the Aosta Est tollbooth, and then had thought of traveling a kilometer in the wrong direction to ‘recover’ the road.

There is also another way to solve the problem, which is with technology. In fact, Skoda, last February, led to the debut on the most equipped versions of Superb, Scala, Kamiq, Karoq and Kodiaq. wrong-way driver warning, a system developed by Bosch which, thanks to a special App, signals the presence of a car that is driving in the wrong direction. The warning device not only warns those who are driving in the wrong direction of danger, but also warns other road users who are in the danger area. All this happens in a few seconds and therefore much earlier, for example, than the radio news can do. More integrated safety systems are expected to avoid a type of driving error which, despite the signs, is still all too widespread.
