Third dose of the Covid vaccine, in Italy it starts from 20 September with the administration of additional ‘booster’ doses – with Pfizer and Moderna vaccines – to certain categories that are more exposed or at greater risk of serious Sars-CoV-2 / Covid-19 disease.
This is what emerged today during a meeting that took place today between the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza and the Extraordinary Commissioner Covid-19, General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo. Following the favorable opinion expressed by the Technical Scientific Commission of AIFA and CTS, the Ministry of Health is conducting a discussion with the technicians of the Regions for the precise definition of the target population.
Consequently, the computer systems for the start-up of administrations throughout the national territory will be updated. Additional doses of m-Rna vaccine will therefore be made available (BioNTech / Pfizer and Moderna) for the start of the administration.
