The district court ruling became final.
For official crime the convicted security police chief has satisfied the district court’s verdict and resigned.
According to a judgment of the Helsinki District Court more than a month ago, the detective performed official duties related to the nuclear power company Fennovoima.
Ylietsivä worked in the security police unit conducting corporate security investigations.
As a representative of the security police, he audited Fennovoima’s security container, ie assessed its safety in Pyhäjoki, Northern Ostrobothnia, even though Fennovoima bought services from a company he partly owned.
The company was founded to train dogs for safety duties in the Fennovoima nuclear power plant area. The investigator had not reported his side action to the security police, although he should have done so, according to the district court.
In that regard, the detective committed a breach of duty. In addition, he was convicted of a firearms offense for an unauthorized handgun.
Helsinki the district court sentenced the man to a 40-day fine.
This stated that he was dissatisfied with the district court’s judgment but did not ultimately appeal to the Court of Appeal. The district court thus became final.
The investigator has informed the security police that he will resign on 31 August. He has no obligation to work during the period of resignation prior to that.
