“Lion cubs” lost to Albion for the fourth time in a row, twice they were not enough even in the qualifying group. On Sunday, coach Jan Suchopárek's team will face Germany again in Batumi, and they will finish the group next Wednesday in Kutaisi against Israel.

England could have taken the lead in the third minute, but Madueke hit the crossbar with a shot in front of the penalty area. On the opposite side, Kušej immediately fired, but the Trafford goalkeeper blocked his attempt. Sejk found himself in the next chance for the Lions after attacking the English pass, but he ended up in the side net.

The Czechs continued their active play and high commitment. Sejk headed wide, and another great opportunity for Suchopárk's selection was wasted by Kušej, who advanced alone to Trafford, but hit the side netting. After almost half an hour of the game, Madueke did not shoot Jaroš. The Chelsea striker did not get through even with a shot in the 37th minute.

Shortly after the break, Ramsey connected with Gordon, quickly broke into the box and opened the scoring with a shot at the back post. Šulc almost came up with a quick answer, but he didn't beat Trafford.

In the 68th minute, the island team rejoiced at the second goal, but Gordon's goal was disallowed due to offside. Less than 10 minutes later, substitute Daňek's header ended up over the top.

In the set-up, the English determined the final result after the action of two substitute players. Karabec, another incoming player from the bench, lost the ball near the sideline and Archer's pass in front of the goal was used by Smith Rowe.

Voices after the match:

Jan Suchopárek (CZ coach): “The decision was made by a goal in the second minute of the second half, which dulled our activity a lot. The opponent practically did not lend us the ball, the opponent played on it as we expected. Even the revival after three substitutions did not bring many situations and winning the ball.”

Adam Gabriel (defender of the Czech Republic): “England's quality is at the highest level. We've played them twice before, but today we had the best chance to turn it around. Anyone who follows football knows they're world-class quality and the chances of beating them will be minimal. We're good prepared, we didn't lose, despite the speed predisposition of the English. However, we performed quite sympathetically, if we leave aside that we were less on the ball, but we had chances. Even the Czech audience could enjoy it.”

Filip Kaloč (captain and midfielder of the Czech Republic): “It's a big shame, we had a game plan that we stuck to in the first half. Unfortunately, it's a big shame that we didn't convert any of the chances, even though they hit the crossbar. If we converted one or two chances, it's nerve-wracking. Good until half-time result, but after the break we immediately conceded after a nice action. We could have prevented it, but there was still something to be done about it. They showed their quality.”

Vasil Kušej > (attacker CR): “We lost, so my (competition) debut (in the U21 jersey) was unlucky. I'm happy for the chance. We're sorry that we couldn't do it. I'm also sorry for the unconverted chances, I ran alone from the half twice. I didn't solve the first one correctly, then the goalkeeper caught my second chance. If we had scored the first goal, the game would have looked completely different.”
