Delta variant: Can contagion occur on contacts from 5 to 10 seconds?

The theory was born after a case in Australia, in which two people without a mask crossed each other for a very short period, no more than five or ten seconds (Credit: Reproduction/Pexels)

The Director General of Health for Queensland, Australia, said that “very quick contacts are enough to be contagious with the Delta variant.” “Everything indicates that just five to ten seconds of close contact is enough.”

It is already known that the Delta variant is up to 60% more transmissible than the Alpha variant and that it causes disease with more symptoms and is also more resistant to vaccines. But is it true that it can infect victims with contacts as fast as five to ten seconds?
