Méribel (France) – Skier Martina Dubovská did not make it to the top thirty slalom competitors at the World Championships. In the opening round, she lost 3.11 seconds to the leading American Mikaela Shiffrin and did not fit into the elite company for the 2nd round. The medal fights will take place from 13:30.

Favored Shiffrin set the fastest time in the start thanks to starting number 1, when she went down the slope in Méribel in 52.54 seconds. The Swiss Wendy Holdenerová came closest to her, losing 19 hundredths of a second. Unexpectedly, the third is the Canadian Laurence St. Germain with a deficit of 61 hundredths. Slovak Petře Vlhová is in fifth place with a loss of 99 hundredths.
World Cup leader Shiffrinová can win her fifth gold from the World Cup in her great discipline. The American star already triumphed in Thursday's giant slalom in France. In the current season, she won five out of nine slaloms, finished second three times and was not on the podium only once.
The 17th woman in the World Cup discipline ranking in the Dubovské jízda did not go well. She was losing 80 hundredths in the opening sector and her deficit was growing. With a loss of more than three seconds at the finish line, she finally dropped out of the top thirty.
Adriana Jelínková finished behind Dubovská, who was 3.41 seconds behind Shiffrin. Elese Sommer had a deficit of 3.95 seconds, her sister Celine did not finish the first lap.
