The presidents of both chambers held the first meeting of legislative coordination. They promised to process “dusty” projects in Congress for prompt approval.
A fraternal first meeting was held by the new president of the Chamber of Deputies, Vlado Mirosevic(PL) and the president of the Senate, Álvaro Elizalde (PS).
After the meeting, both legislators revealed that they had adopted a commitment to process some thirty bills &# 8220;demanded by citizens” and that they are “powdered” in Congress.
The proposal was made by deputy Mirosevic and was welcomed by the leader of the Upper House. According to both, the work will be carried out under a logic of collaboration and “not rivalry”.
“The important thing is that we all contribute so that these bills, which are demanded by citizens, are approved quickly (…) The important thing is that these bills are discussed, debated, vote and be approved“, said Senator Elizalde.
“We must give a sense of urgency to the legislative task we have to face needs such as public safety, cost of life and the economic situation”, he added.
Meanwhile, the President of the Upper House assured that the two front leaders know each other and cultivate a friendship, for which he ruled out possible rivalries.< br /> He also detailed that they will define a list of 30 bills that they will “dust off” to “approve them fast”.
“We will listen to all sectors, including the opposition, too. If there are good projects of theirs, we will incorporate them into this list”, said Deputy Mirosevic.
