CEO of SpaceX Elon Musk (Elon Musk) stated that his team could land the spaceship Starship to the moon in early 2021. At the same time people the company will deliver to the moon’s surface in a year or two.
About this, Musk said in an interview with Time magazine. “It sounds pretty weird, but I think we can land on the moon in less than two years. Of course, initially, it will be an unmanned ship. After another year or two we could send a team,” he said.
Musk stressed that to send humans to the moon may need more time to convince NASA and the American government in reality such a flight. “Literally easier to put Starship on the moon than trying to convince a skeptical NASA engineers that it is possible”, – said the billionaire.
SpaceX is still experiencing technical problems at launch – July 16 prototype Starship rocket caught fire during ground testing in Boca Chica, Texas. The exact cause of the incident is still under investigation.
