Former MNA for Rouyn-Noranda-Témiscamingue Émilise Lessard-Therrien is running for the position of co-spokesperson for Québec solidaire.
She believes that her vision on the development of Quebec and the regions will be aligned with the projects of Quebec solidaire.
We know that Quebec solidaire wants to reposition itself in the regions of Quebec. The 2022 elections did not necessarily live up to expectations, underlines Émilise Lessard-Therrien.
Manon Massé announced in mid-May that she was ready to pass the torch. On the show It's worth the return, Émilise Lessard-Therrien was asked about her interest in replacing Manon Massé. She then replied that it was too early to say.
Manon Massé was appointed spokesperson for Québec solidaire in 2017. She mentioned last month that she wanted to continue her mandate as an MP in her riding of Sainte-Marie-Saint-Jacques.
“By having a spokesperson who comes from the regions, it will perhaps also allow all of Quebec, people from the regions to recognize themselves in this party. »

At the moment, she sees her absence from the National Assembly as an advantage.
To be on the ground, to be firmly rooted in local struggles in the various social movements. Walk all over the territory to really make sure you are up to date with the issues and realities of the community, she describes.
