The family of Paulino Rivas, an elderly person who disappeared 18 days ago in Valdivia, in the Los Ríos region, is asking for more support in his search. As they indicated, only civilians are working to find his whereabouts.

It was the afternoon of Saturday, November 5, when this adult over 60, who suffers from advanced Alzheimer’s, escaped of the Vida de Aventuras residence in the Huachocopihue sector and so far nothing is known about its location.

Over the weeks, multiple search operations have been carried out,concentrated in the wetlands and wells surrounding the Pablo Neruda population, since in the vicinity, private cameras captured him circulating the same afternoon that he disappeared, locating his last traces there.

Nicol Rivas, Paulino’s niece, assured that currently the search is only carried out daily by civilians.

Radio Bío Bío consulted the PDI and the Public Ministry. The former declined to provide a statement, indicating that there are ongoing investigations; while the Prosecutor’s Office specified that the persecutor in charge was not available, since he was in a trial for another cause.

Regarding how the escape from Rivas occurred, the family indicated that the residence informed them that this occurred during the visits on Saturday, at which timethe access door was left open.
