The Czech Presidency in the second half of last year was significantly affected by the February Russian invasion of Ukraine and high energy prices. These points were among the five main political priorities of the presidency, others were the strengthening of European defense capacities, the security of cyberspace and the resilience of the European economy and democratic institutions.
Bek told ČTK at the end of last year that after the end of the presidency he wants to focus on, for example coordination of government positions towards European proposals, improvement of the system for preparing impact analyzes of European legislation or political dialogue with key actors of practical European politics in the Czech Republic.
