Slavia boss Jaroslav Tvrdík talked about the agreement with Sigma already during the winter break, but Chytil still finished the league season at Haná and helped Olomouc to the final sixth place. He leaves for the vice-champion team after the season of his life, in which he scored 12 league goals. He added three more in the cup.
“The time has come to say goodbye. It was a difficult decision for me, but the time has come when you need to move on in your career,” said Chytil. “I'm very happy that everything has been resolved. I'm looking forward to Petr Ševčík and Aleš Mandous, we wrote several times about Slavia. And also to the fans, there was always a great atmosphere in Eden,” added the Olomouc native.
Chytil made his debut in the national team in November against the Faroe Islands and scored a hat-trick on his debut, also at his home Andrová Stadium in Olomouc. Three days later, he also started in the next training session against Turkey and in March he was not missing in the two qualifying duels for the Euro against Poland and Moldova.
“He has very good coverage of the ball, maybe the best game ever with his back to the goal in the league. He is a team player, combative, with excellent physical parameters. In addition, he is still very young. When I talk to some people about him, they are surprised at how old he really is, they are slowly considering him as a league matador. The most we will demand from him is in the box and with his back to the goal,” said Prague coach Jindřich Trpišovský.
“The negotiations around Mojmír Chytil were long and arduous. I am glad that we finally managed to keep him for the spring part of the league and Mojmír helped us to promotion to the group for the title. At the same time, it was possible to achieve favorable financial conditions for the club, including a percentage of any further transfer,” revealed Sigma's sports director Ladislav Minář.
Chytil has 116 matches in the top flight, in which he scored 25 goals, including 20 in the last two seasons. In addition to Olomouc, he also played in the league during his six-month loan spell in Pardubice.
