Brno – Former top model of Czech origin, Pavlína Pořízková, who in the 1980s and 1990s filled the front pages of lifestyle magazines in the USA and in Europe, gave a glimpse into her memories and reflections on situations that they met her in life. Including that her husband Ric Ocasek disinherited her shortly before the divorce, which they no longer had due to his sudden death in 2019. After that, she hit rock bottom. Today, she baptized the book, which was published in a Czech translation from last year's English original, in Brno.

In the Dobrovský bookstore, where she arrived in a white summer dress, dozens of well-wishers were waiting for her. She remembered her childhood in Czechoslovakia, her life as a model and the moments when her husband died. “It was a terrible blow for me, that's why I decided to open my heart on Instagram. I was terribly alone and terribly sad. I was looking for someone to hear me and I thought to myself that there are more women in the world who are also alone and what also suffers,” said Pořízková. When she got an offer to write a book, it inspired her and she got down to it. “Even though I only had three months to do it,” Pořízková recalled.

Although the life of models revolves around photographs and filming, there is none in the book published by the Jota publishing house, with the exception of one on the cover.< /p>

Life has given her moments of glory and success as well as times when she was down. Her parents left her three years after her birth, when they emigrated without her to Sweden in 1968, and she was only able to leave for them six years later. They also divorced, so her childhood life was not easy. But when her photos were received by a Western modeling agency, her life turned upside down. At the age of 19, in 1984 she appeared on the cover of the fashion magazine Sport Illustrated, five years later she signed a contract with the cosmetics company Esteé Lauder. People saw her in magazines, in commercials, and in movies. In 1992, Harper's Bazaar magazine ranked her among the ten most beautiful women in the world.

Her almost thirty-year marriage to the American rocker Ocasque, who was 21 years her senior and with whom she has two sons, brought her both happiness and sadness. But for several months, they were headed for divorce. But they remained in contact, even according to the information in the preface, they wanted to buy apartments close to each other so that it would be easier for their sons. However, Ocasek wrote in his will that Pořízková had left him, thereby disinheriting her. Until the court finally found her right and awarded her part of the inheritance. A film documentary is currently being filmed about Pořízková.
