Slovak television stations Markíza and Joj reported that the plane was registered in the Czech Republic, but according to Markíza, the four-seater Diamond DA-42 type machine was used by the aviation school in Trenčín.

The police informed that the plane fell to the field between the villages of Trenčianske Stankovce and Beckov, which lie south of the regional town of Trenčín. Firefighters published a photo of the scene of the accident with the wreckage of the plane.

Accidents of small planes in Slovakia are not unique. For example, last June, one person from the two-person crew of a machine that fell into a corn field in the south of the country died. The Slovak pilot and the two Czech passengers died in the accident of another plane in Slovakia the year before last.
