Analyst firm NPD Group has introduced a new report regarding the fees in the gaming industry. An interesting fact became clear: in the first quarter of 2020 gamers from the United States spent a record of 10.86 billion dollars. While sales of content in video games made up 9.58 billion, which is 11% higher than a year earlier. Sales growth recorded in all gaming platforms including consoles, PC, mobile devices, as well as in the categories of iron and accessories.
The most successful games for the first quarter were Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Eternal DOOM, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Fortnite, Grand Theft Auto V, Minecraft, MLB The Show and NBA 2K20 20.
In the NPD Group noted that sales growth of the family Switch consoles and games for it helped to offset the decline among other platforms. The iron segment was up 2% to 773 million dollars, while sales of video game accessories including controllers, headphones, cases and other peripherals, — 1% to 503 million dollars.
