According to a new rumor, the smartphone should soon have more than 2 Gb of RAM to use the full version of Android. Alternatively, manufacturers may use Android Gb, a version designed for smartphones, the most affordable.
In 2017, Google has launched the Android Gb to guarantee a good experience on smartphones low cost, which often have processor little fast and very little memory. In essence, Android Gb is a version of Android that has been simplified to work best on Android smartphones. And in addition to have lightened the operating system, Google has also created versions less heavy applications, such as YouTube Go, Maps Go or Wizard Gb.
Up to now, the manufacturers of smartphones low-cost airlines have the choice between using Android Gb, or use the full version of the operating system (even if the experience can be bad). But apparently, the firm intends to make Android Go mandatory on this category of smartphones.
This is shown in an article published this week by the site GSMArena. According to the report, documents Android 11 that were leaked indicate that soon, smartphones will need to have more than 2 Gb of RAM to use the full version of Android. Otherwise, the manufacturer will have to break out the camera on Android Go, with less features, but an experience optimized for devices that are low cost. This new rule would apply from the last quarter of 2020. The smartphones that came out before the date of entry into force of the new conditions would not however be affected.

But, of course, since for the time being, this information is not official, caution is advised. However, Google would have many reasons for imposing this new rule. First of all, this would allow Android smartphones to the less efficient to have a software more optimized, which can have an impact on the reputation of the operating system. But in addition to this, Android Gb could help Google to reduce fragmentation of the OS. Currently, it is one of the big problems of Android. But Google ensures that there has been progress in the last year.
As a reminder, Android 11, is already available in beta public, on smartphones Pixel and on a few devices from other brands. Google will launch the stable release of this version of the OS before the end of the year and could also take the opportunity to explain the new rule regarding the affordable smartphones.
